We began Healing on the Streets in Easter of 2005 to reach out to our community. We have had an amazing response locally, but it also seems people from far and wide are travelling hundreds of miles to get to us, as they hear what God is doing here. We have had people telephone us to say they want to fly over from England to come for healing on the streets. We either pray for them over the phone, or point them towards some Christians nearer to where they live, to save them the journey. Recently I prayed for a very sick woman living in Italy over the phone, who had heard the news. This is both encouraging and sad.
I'm encouraged that news of what Jesus is doing here has travelled so quickly, but sad that needy, broken people have to travel so far to find Jesus this way. The cry of God's heart is for his people to be out on the streets reaching out to the broken, in their town or city. It's what spurs me on to equip and encourage the church to move out onto the streets; To be a church without walls.
I would love to see Healing on the Streets in every town and city, in every nation, so people wouldn't have to travel far. Imagine God's amazing love freely being poured out onto the streets with healings, signs and wonders taking place. Imagine how the spiritual climate of our nations could change. Imagine the possibilities.
